This is a common DC motor driver module, using 293D chip low current DC motor driver chip. Pin is made of Arduino -compatible, but also convenient for lovers fast Arduino-based development .
L293D is a monolithic integrated, high voltage, high current, 4-channel driver
Basically this means using this chip you can use DC motors and power supplies of up to 25 Volts, thats some pretty big motors and the chip can supply a maximum current of 600mA per channel, the L293D chip is also whats known as a type of H-Bridge
The H-Bridge is typically an electrical circuit that enables a voltage to be applied across a load in either direction to an output, e.g. motor
interface for 5V Servo connected to the Arduinos high-resolution dedicated timer - no jitter
Can drive 4 DC motors or 2 stepper motors or 2 Servo
Scope: Arduino beginners, Arduino test equipment platform, Arduino interactive electronics, Arduino robotics.
Features: multi-function, easy to operate, there is a strong drive library support and feature updates.
Cons: case I / O takes more while four motor-driven (as opposed to Arduino I / O version less concerned), small power.
Can drive 4 DC motors or stepper motor 2-way 2-way steering while driving, support the latest Arduino UNO, Arduino Mega 2560
You can do this with:
drive four DC motors and two servo
drive two DC motors and stepper motors all the way and two-way steering
drive two stepper motors and two servos
* 4-channel H-bridge: L293D each bridge chip provides .0.6 A (peak 1.2A) current and with a thermal shutdown protection, 4.5V to 36V.
* Pull-down resistor to ensure that when the power the motor remains stopped.
* Large terminal terminals make wiring easier (10 - 22AWG) and power supply.
* With Arduino reset button.
* 2 large terminal external power terminals to ensure separation of logic and motor drive power.
* Compatible with Mega, Diecimila, & Duemilanove.
* Provide full set of parts available for want-it-yourself enthusiast DIY.
